The Bridge Road School difference

Unconditional Positive Regard

Bridge Road School is a specialist setting with expert staff providing intensive intervention for complex learners. All students at Bridge Road School are 'known, valued and cared for'. Our staff are dedicated to displaying unconditional positive regard. This means that staff do not take incidents of dysregulation personally, and when students return to calm, relationships are repaired, and staff work to display warmth and kindness to reassure students. Focus on Wellbeing

Bridge Road has a strong focus on student wellbeing.  We implement many programs to build self-esteem and promote a positive self-concept. Our priority is to teach students how to learn. Grounded in trauma-informed practice, and acknowledging adverse childhood experiences and neurodiversity, we understand our students need to develop relationships before they can be ready to learn. Wrap Around Support

Our biggest job at Bridge Road School is to re-engage, disengaged learners. All students at the school have a personalised learning and support plan.  Staff know their students and how they learn and thus implement a differentiated and adjusted teaching and learning program with an emphasis on explicit teaching. Our teaching and learning programs have a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, PDHPE, social skills, creative arts and outdoor education. Our students are most focused and engaged when the activities are hands-on, engaging and relatable. Click here to find out more about our wrap around supports:
