Facilities and resources
Our students need safe spaces and time to calm down. We have created a range of break out areas and activities throughout the day to ensure all students are catered for during an emotional crisis or more importantly to stop the crisis from occurring. All spaces can be fully supervised, and students can choose to enter these spaces as required. There are calming corners in each class in which to relax, sleep and hide. By providing different lunch time options, such as iPads, the forest swing, or sporting activities, we reduce conflict between children on the playground. As we have three breaks throughout the day, this is very important (2 recess breaks of 20 minutes, and a 40 minute lunch break).

Resources and technology
Our school uses modern technology and digital learning tools. Our resources help students learn, create and stay connected. We have class laptops, interactive whiteboards, and a set of iPads for inside lunch.
Our bright and comfortable classrooms.
Each classroom has bright furniture that matches the name of the class, including chairs and ottomans. Tables have a whiteboard top for teachers and students to collaborate.
All classes have a set of student laptops, and an interactive whiteboard. The school also has a set of iPads used at the lunch break for students favouring indoor play.
The school also has digital microscopes that connect to an iPad to view insects and invertebrates up close and personal!
Forest space
Our forest space is used for our RFF outdoor education program and break out space during a crisis. Students have an opportunity to ride bikes and scooters around a dedicated track, and engage in learn to ride tuition. There is also a calming swing available.
In the RFF program in the forest, we use a set of binoculars, a powerful telescope to spot birds, have trail cameras at night capturing the possums that call the forest home, and use a metal detector to engage students.
The forest space is also hired out to community members on weekends.
Our well-stocked library for reading and research.
Our school library is a vital resource providing a supportive and inclusive space tailored to our students unique learning requirements. It offers a variety of accessible materials, including easy-to-read books, fiction and non-fiction, that engage and inspire students at all levels. The library is designed to be a calm and structured environment where SSP students can explore new ideas, develop literacy skills through our 1:1 reading program, and build confidence in a way that suits their individual needs.
Our library is also used as a quiet space for morning routine and quiet lunch play.
Sports field and play equipment for fitness and fun.
Our school's soccer field and play equipment provide a vibrant and engaging space where students can develop their physical skills, teamwork, and social interaction. The well-maintained soccer field encourages regular physical activity, helping students improve their fitness, coordination, and strategic thinking. Meanwhile, our 3 diverse play equipment options offer opportunities for creative play, motor skill development, and inclusive fun for all age groups. Together, these facilities support the holistic growth of our students by promoting healthy lifestyles, building confidence, and fostering a strong sense of community.
